Brian Beutel’s 19th Annual Battle of the Blue

It’s the ultimate basketball challenge – 16 teams of police officers from police departments in Northern New Jersey will participate in the 19th Annual Battle of the Blue to benefit the Tomorrows Children’s Fund (TCF).  The event’s new name will be the “Brian Beutel Battle of the Blue”, in memory of Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer Lt. Brian Beutel. Brian was the epitome of a true TCF Angel and we acknowledge all of his hard work and dedication, throughout his many years as the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department’s Battle of the Blue Team Representative.

We will continue this amazing event not only to honor Brian’s Legacy, but to continue to help all of the young children battling cancer. This year’s event will be the best ever…it is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14th.   Sponsored by their respective PBA locals, the teams will face off at the Rothman Center, Fairleigh Dickinson University, River Road in Hackensack on Wednesday, March 14th.  Game time begins at 5 p.m.

Teams will play elimination rounds until only one team remains and is declared “2018 Battle of the Blue Champion”.  Participating towns include Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, Bergenfield, Englewood, Fort Lee, Franklin, Hackensack, Jersey City, North Bergen, Passaic, Passaic County Sheriff, Paterson, Port Authority, Teaneck, Union City, and West New York.

The evening also includes impressive auction items, raffles, refreshments and other contests for fans.  Tickets are $5 adult, $3 child and are being pre-sold by Tomorrows Children’s Fund and participating police departments.

Tickets will also be sold at the door.  Come cheer on your favorite Police Department to victory!
